Vision

Everyone deserves to feel safe. I fully support our first responders and take a community-based approach that makes our streets and public spaces welcoming for all. My younger brother survived a high school shooting, so I understand deeply the importance of proactive safety and violence prevention. Edmonds also needs stronger emergency preparedness, and my experience leading large-scale disaster responses has shown I can deliver on that.

Public Safety

I have been on the frontlines of the climate crisis. I will champion clean energy initiatives, protect our parks, marshes, and landmark trees, and strengthen disaster preparedness. Acting now will ensure the Edmonds we love remains vibrant for generations to come.

Environment

Edmonds is in a financial crisis, and business as usual is not working. In my job, I work within a multimillion dollar humanitarian budget and serve on disaster responses of more than 10 million dollars, making sure resources go to the people and programs that need them most. I raise money from grants, corporate partners, and individual donors, and I know how to prioritize limited resources in moments of crisis. That experience has prepared me to make tough budget decisions that maximize impact and provide the financial stewardship Edmonds needs to remain strong and stable.

Some have suggested slashing essential city programs and even selling our parks. I favor raising new revenues and identifying the path to financial stability through short, medium, and long term plans. While I believe that passing the Levy Lid Lift is a necessary step in the right direction for Edmonds, property owners should not hold the sole responsibility for getting us out of this crisis. In the short-term, we need to look at diverse revenue streams like red light camera enforcement and downtown parking fees for non-residents. In the medium-term, we need budgeting periods of two years and five years to make sure that we don’t end up back where we are today. Long term, we need a plan for smart growth: using what worked to make our downtown a thriving business center and replicating that success in other areas of our community like what has begun in Perrinville and Five Corners - not changing the character of our downtown.

Financial Stability

Edmonds is becoming less affordable for seniors, young families, and long-time residents. I am committed to diverse housing solutions that protect neighborhood character, support renters, ease barriers to homeownership, and ensure essential city services stay accessible for everyone.
